French Quarter Caramel Sauce

New Orleans tailgating treat

Yield: Makes about 2 cups

Ingredients

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup Gentleman Jack
Banana slices

Directions:

Melt butter in saucepan. Stir in sugar and cream. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.

Remove from heat. Pour into bowl to cool. Whisk in Gentleman Jack.

Serve warm or at room temperature. Serve with banana slices. Store in refrigerator.

Other tasty ideas: Use French Quarter Caramel sauce for dipping strawberries and orange segments or drip French Quarter Caramel sauce over vanilla ice cream.
