Cumin Rubbed Steak

| 2 | teaspoons | brown sugar |
| 2 | teaspoons | paprika, optional |
| 1 | teaspoon | garlic pepper seasoning |
| 1 | teaspoon | ground cumin |
| 1 | teaspoon | ground oregano |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | onion powder |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | salt |
| 1/4 | teaspoon | ground thyme |
| 2 | lbs | boneless beef top sirloin steak, about 1- inch thick |
| 2 | lbs | OR boneless steak (your choice) |
In small bowl, stir together brown sugar, paprika, garlic pepper, cumin, oregano, onion powder, salt, and thyme. Make shallow diagonal slashes in both directions on both sides of steak. Rub steak evenly on both sides with seasoning mixture. Cover; set aside.
Heat grill to medium direct heat. Place steak on grill rack. Grill, covered, 5 to 8 minutes per side or until desired doneness. Let stand 3 to 5 minutes before serving. Cut steak into thin slices and serve with grilled onion and bell pepper kabobs, if desired.
